Lewis intentionally brackets denominational and confessional distinctives to present only what he calls 'mere' Christianity, which means the book is deliberately agnostic on soteriology, ecclesiology, and eschatology. Readers seeking a confessionally precise treatment of any of these areas will need to supplement Lewis with more tradition-specific works.
