Terms of Service

TheoScope provides AI-generated ratings and theological profiles for books, Bible translations, and other written works. Scores reflect editorial analysis and are provided for informational and discernment purposes only. They do not constitute professional theological advice, and we make no warranties about their accuracy or completeness.

You acknowledge that all Discern Scores are AI-generated opinions, not statements of fact. TheoScope is not responsible for decisions made based on any score, rating, or content on the platform.

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@theoscope.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement.

• Free trial. New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access. No credit card is required during the trial.
• Monthly plan. $4.99/month, billed monthly. Includes up to 20 new book analyses per calendar month.
• Annual plan. Billed once per year. Includes unlimited analyses.
• Lifetime access. A one-time purchase granting permanent access as long as the Service operates.
• Church/Ministry license.Annual flat-rate license for congregations, priced by size tier. Access is granted to all members who join using the church's access code.
• Supporter tier. A flexible annual payment at or above the listed minimum, granting one year of full access.

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. Subscription renewals are billed automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Refunds. We do not offer refunds for monthly or annual subscription payments once charged. Lifetime and one-time purchases are final. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at hello@theoscope.app within 14 days and we will review your request.

You may submit book reviews and ratings (“User Content”). By submitting User Content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and distribute it on the Service. You represent that you own or have the right to submit your User Content and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

We reserve the right to remove User Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, is offensive, false, or otherwise inappropriate.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract content from the Service
• Use the Service to train AI models without our written permission
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Share your account credentials or church access code with people outside your congregation
• Post reviews you know to be false or misleading
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

Discern Scores, theological profiles, and all AI-generated analysis are editorial opinions produced by an automated system. They are not endorsed by any denomination, seminary, or theological institution. Reasonable people may disagree with any score. TheoScope does not defame any author or publisher — all scores reflect good-faith analysis based on publicly available information about the author's documented theological positions.

The TheoScope name, logo, and original content on the Service are owned by Theoscope Technology, LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission. Book titles, author names, cover images, and descriptions are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary purposes.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THEOSCOPE TECHNOLOGY, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Georgia.
